When Padathu Mappila left permanently for Manarcad, a few of the family continued to live at Patath, Meenadom. Several decades later, one of his descendants, Cherian by name, played an active role in the construction of the now famous St. Thomas Church at Meenadom. He had only one daughter, Sosamma, who was married into the Maliyil family of Karapuzha. The descendants of this couple now live near Padath, and they constitute the small Padathu Parambil Shakha of the Kutumbayogam.
